Remember that you need to find a program that works well with your schedule. You can take all classes in just a single day. Training can last for around 8 hours or so. A good course won’t cost you more than $600. But do ensure you’re at least 18 (well, you can’t ensure that, actually… you need to wait till you turn 18 if you are not already). It is also a must that your past records will be free from all sorts of criminal activities. You should have prior experience in driving forklift trucks before you sign up for the forklift instructor course.

Whenever you have the chance, do not forget to ask the supervisor if the employer is interested in appointing you as a forklift instructor. Let the employer know that you’d be willing to instruct your colleagues after taking forklift classes on the weekends. Let the employer know that you would like to train other employees so that they become more productive with whatever work they are doing with their forklifts.

You also need to consider your other options. If the boss doesn’t let you instruct others due to your tight work schedule, you can also offer him to take classes online, to make sure that these classes do not conflict with their job duties. Make sure that all the classes you’ve chosen come with an established track record. Choose the right training for becoming a forklift instructor. If you get references from satisfied trainees or clientele, this could be a plus.
